Information Kiosks:
These can be found in:
- Terminal A (International Arrivals and International Departures); and
- Terminal B (Domestic Arrivals).
Shuttle bus:
Four buses shuttle guests between the remote parking area and the terminal buildings for which the average waiting time is no more than six minutes a trip. The buses can accommodate standing guest, seated guests and people in wheelchairs. The remote parking areas are fitted with intercoms linked to ACSA's joint operations centre, which allows passengers to contact the helpdesk.
Paying for parking:
The airport's pay-on-foot system, in use since March 1999, reduces queues and speeds up the payment process. ACSA has strategically positioned 38 pay stations in all of the parking areas. Please Note, it is advisable not to leave your parking ticket in the vehicle, but to keep it in a safe place during your trip.
Once your trip is over and you are ready to leave the airport, you pay by:
- Inserting your ticket and then paying the required amount at the pay station
- Retrieving your ticket and returning to your vehicle
- Inserting your paid-for ticket at the exit to open the boom.
The system accepts cash and credit cards, but a credit card limit does apply. Garage and petrol cards will not be accepted. Parking tariffs are listed on the website: www.acsa.co.za .
If you need help, the pay stations and ticket feeders at the entrances and exits have intercoms linked to operators in the parking control room. Press the "help" button for assistance.

SpeedPark:
SpeedPark, the airport’s quick- parking solution, was launched in October 2000. This pre-paid system allows visitors to avoid all pay stations and possible queues, allowing a quick and efficient exit.
SpeedPark Gold:
A SpeedPark Gold card lets you pay in advance for parking. Cards are available in denominations of R100, R200, R500 and R1000. A parking fee is simply deducted from the card each time it is swiped; the card remains valid for as long as it contains a value.
SpeedPark Gold offers many benefits, such as:
- a free 15-minute period for drop-offs;
- convenient card recharging at the First Park offices on the first floor of the multi-storey parkade; and
- the possibility of cancelling stolen cards with one telephone call.

Porters:
JIA offers full portage services, so ensure you only use approved airport porters – who wear bright orange uniforms and navy-blue shirts, and carry ACSA permits. Porters can be found in the arrivals halls and outside the terminals in the area connecting the International Terminal and the Domestic Terminal. They work exclusively for tips: a general guide is to give R5 (five South African Rands) per bag.
Transport:
Taxis and shuttle buses:
In order to curb illegal touting, ACSA has appointed a concessionary taxi and shuttle service that covers all major towns, suburbs, shopping centres and casinos.
Please only make use of ACSA accredited and approved transport operators. Approved operators display the ACSA logo on their vehicles and are available outside the arrivals terminals. Contact the ACSA information desks if you need help.
Pick-up points:
To get to the taxi and shuttle terminus: follow the taxi and shuttle icons to the terminus, which is opposite International Arrivals (Terminal A).
To get to the bus and coach terminus: follow the bus and coach icons to the terminus, which is in the multi-storey parkade, behind the car-hire depots.
